This photo was taken by my kid from the rare seat of the car. The windows are tinted, so you can see the deference between open and tinted part of the sky. This is exactly how neutral density or graduated neutral density filter works.

There are few kinds of light in photography. The primary lighting conditions are: the frontlight (the light that hits straight on the front of your subject / hits your back), the sidelight (the light that hits the subject from side) and backlight (the source of light hits the back of the subject / hits the front of the photographer).

The backlight is the most difficult to photograph with. But it is often produces stunning photos.

In this post I want to show you the example of backlight exposure. I took this picture with flash on, because I didn’t want the flower to be underexposed.
